CALDER Jewelry

Recommendation to visit the Calder Jewelry exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Alexander Calder (1898-1976), famous for inventing mobiles, also created jewelry throughout his life – mostly brass, steel, and silver using pounded wire techniques, intended for friends and family. Highlights: his wife’s engagement ring, a 1943 necklace, and mobile earrings.
