I am back in Doha for the 9th time in 10 years. A day trip to the northern Qatar peninsula to Al Zubara, an ancient fort and archaeological dig that was once a pearl-diving town.

Montana Agate
In August 2014 I took a ride on a Harley Davidson Road King around Flathead Lake, Montana, visiting rock shops to find Montana Agate (also called moss agate), a chalcedony with black moss-like inclusions found in Yellowstone river riverbeds.
Rock shops visited: Junction Rock Shop, Montana Within Rock Shop LLC, Kehoe’s Agate Shop, Mineralholics LLC, The Treasure Outpost in Whitefish, Rocks and Things Metaphysical.

A 10-day Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle trip from Missoula, Montana to Jasper, Alberta and back, through Glacier National Park, Banff, and the Icefields Parkway.
Spring Travels
Annual teaching visit to Doha, Qatar; Lucinges France (Hotel Le Bonheur dans le Pres); Zurich (Kunsthalle exhibit, hike up Rigi); Edinburgh Scotland (150-year-old manse); York (Star Carr Mesolithic archaeological site).

Vertebrae found at Ditch Plains Beach, Montauk, identified through research as likely from a bottlenose dolphin. This species has been experiencing a measles-like virus epidemic in Long Island waters.
