19) Navy Road Beaches

Remote beaches accessed from Navy Road in Montauk. Quiet and rarely crowded, with good fishing and shell collecting.

20) Culloden Point

A rocky point named after the British warship HMS Culloden, which ran aground here in 1781. The wreck is now a popular dive site. Beautiful views of Block Island Sound.

21) Gin Beach

A popular local beach at the tip of Montauk’s North Shore. Good for swimming in calm bay waters. Named for the rum-running activity that once took place here during Prohibition.

22) Oyster Pond and Shagwong Point

A scenic area between Fort Pond Bay and Block Island Sound. Rich in shellfish and birdlife. Access requires a hike through scrubland.

23) North Road beaches

A series of small beach access points along North Road (Route 27) in Montauk. Rocky shores with good fishing spots.
